	Free Trilogy/Brookfield Lacrosse Clinic this Thursday 6-7

Parents – Trilogy Lacrosse will be attending our Youth Clinic this Thursday 1/26 from 6-7 in New Milford. The clinic is free for all boys in Grade 5-8 who have registered for the Spring season. Mitch Belisle from Trilogy will be working with the boys on drills and giving them pointers. Please see the attached flyer for details.

	Brookfield Lacrosse 2012 Practice Schedule

Parents – we finalized our practice schedule for the Spring 2012 season. I wanted to post the practice days so parents can plan better for the Spring. Practice will be at the two Cadigan fields with two teams sharing each field.   Schmidt field also known as the Corn Field will also be used for practices.  We will only have the High School turf on Friday nights and weekend afternoons. Home games will be played on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and weekends. Game schedules are still being finalized and will be posted in February.

Mondays :                 Cadigan Field #1 – Games Only
                                    Cadigan Field #2 - Games Only

Tuesday:                     Cadigan Field #1 – Little Bantam Girls & Lightning Girls
                                    Cadigan Field #2 - JR Blue Boys & Lightning Boys
                                    Schmidt Field – JR Gold Boys & Senior Boys

Wednesday:               Cadigan Field #1 - Games Only
                                    Cadigan Field #2 - JR Girls & Bantam Boys
                                    Schmidt Field – Senior Girls

	CONNY ENDORSES AND ADOPTS USLAX YOUTH BEST PRACTICES AND RULES

On Tuesday evening the CONNY Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse and adopt the US Lacrosse initiative to standardize youth lax best practices and rules. As most of you know, CONNY has been one of very few youth leagues used as models in developing these standards, and we have been consulted repeatedly during the process.The most immediately salient implication of this vote for CONNY member programs is USLax’s move of the age eligibility cutoff date for each age division from the December 31 to the August 31 preceding the season. Make sure you reflect this change in your 2012 registration materials.

Here’s a comparison of how CONNY’s 2012 age divisions will look under the new CONNY/US Lax August 31 cut-off date, as compared to our old December 31 cut-off.

	BLC Spring Tag Sale

Hi Everyone,
The BLC will be running a spring tag sale to be held on one of our clubs Lax Days at Cadigan Park next spring; May 19th to be exact. I'm looking for a few good people to help guarantee it will be a financial success. We have plenty of time to plan but I will have a preliminary meeting in the next few weeks. This is the perfect way to help the BLC without too much of a time commitment and I promise we'll have a good time too! Please email me if you are interested....

If you are not able to help, but you have some treasures buried in your attic or basement, please set them aside for next April when we will start collecting items for the tag sale.

The following appeared in the March 18th issue of The New Yorker and I must say it is really good. If you know nothing about the sport your son or daughter is playing you will find it very informative (unfortunately for you fans of the girls game it is mostly on the boys game) and for those that know the sport well you will be equally informed and entertained. I strongly encourage you to print it out and give it a read and then pass it on to your son or daughter for them to read. It is probably the best "general" article I have seen on the sport that covers some history, the specifics, the strategy, the similarities to other sports and where the sport is going (world wide).
